Durga Puja Celebrations
The following are the details of our Durga Puja celebrations:
20/10/2015 (Mahasaptami): Sri Sri Chandi Path (chanting of all the slokas of Sri Sri Chandi) in the temple from 8:00 a.m.
- 7:00 a.m. – Durga Saptasati Chanting – Sri Sri Chandi Path (chanting of all the slokas of Sri Sri Chandi)
- 7:30 a.m. – Pooja starts
- 10:30 a.m. – Havan
- 11:40 a.m. – Bhog Arati
- 12 noon – Prasad Distribution
- 1:06 p.m. – 1:54 p.m. – Sandhi (The period during which the slaying of Chamunda took place is called Sandhi kaal. This is a 48-minute long period covering last 24 minutes of Ashtami and first 24 minutes of Navami. This time is considered extremely holy and auspicious. This year Sandhi occurs on the 21st of October, 2015 from 1:06 p.m. to 1:54 p.m. Hence, after Ashtami Puja and Prasad, during the time of Sandhi, all the devotees can sit and silently offer prayers and do Japa. The temple will remain open.)
- There will be special singing of bhajans on Mother after the evening Arati of Sri Ramakrishna.
22/10/2013 (Mahanavami): Sri Sri Chandi Path (chanting of all the slokas of Sri Sri Chandi) in the temple from 8:00 a.m.
Lakshmi Puja: A special puja will be held on the occasion of Lakshmi Puja on the 26th of October, 2015 from 7:30 p.m. Prasad will be distributed at the end of the Puja a little before 10:00 p.m. All the devotees are invited to join the puja and also have Prasad.
