The 157th Birthday Tithi Puja of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated in the Temple of the Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi, on Sunday, the 27th January 2019.
The day started with Sehnai recital (on audio cassette) at 4.30 a.m. and the gates of the temple were opened for devotees. At 5.00 a.m. with the blowing of the conch shell, the mangalarati started. After the arati was over, Vedic chanting was done by monastics of the Order.
The Special Puja started at 7.50 a.m. and it was done by Swami Amritamayanandaji Mj. The Chandipath was simultaneously done by Swami Dhruvarupanandaji Maharaj at the Shayan Ghar of Sri Sri Thakur and Ma in the Temple.
The bhajans on Swamiji in the early morning when puja started were rendered by Shri Chandra Nath Mukherjee and Shri Champak Chatterjee, accompanied by Shri Siddhartha Bhattacharya on tabla and Shri Ramesh Dwivedi on manjira. Afterwards Revered Secretary Maharaj also rendered a few devotional songs.
Homa was performed by Swami Amritamayanandaji Mj with Revered Secretary Mj as Tantradharak. After homa was over, Pushpanjali started with the mantra, administered by Revered Secretary Mj.Afterwards the bhoga started at 11.00 a.m. and the door of the sanctum sanctorum was closed, Revered Secretary Mj gave a brief discourse on Swamiji. After Bhoga ended, the door of the sanctum sanctorum was opened, arati was performed by Swami Amritamayanandaji Mj with the singing of “Khandana Bhava Bandhana….” by all devotees in chorus led by Swami Dhruvarupanandaji Maharaj. After completion of arati all devotees offered pranams to the Holy Trinity and proceeded for taking cooked prasad. The Temple was closed after all the devotees offered pranams to the Holy Trinity.
In the evening, the children of our Free Coaching Centre as well as Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) performed the cultural programmes.
